Tralynza has earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work. She received her master’s in social work, from Our Lady of the Lake University-San Antonio, Texas. Tralynza is passionate about eliminating the mental illness stigma, particularly in black and indigenous people of color (BIPOC) communities. She believes that representation matters and has a huge influence on a community’s openness to seek mental health care. She strives to provide the best possible care for all clients, no matter their background, and hopes to create the best space for healing and growth.
Tralynza has 10 years of experience in the mental health field and currently works as a school social worker. Tralynza has experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, depression, anxiety, children, teens, adults, and families. She also has experience working with severe mental illnesses and veterans. She has a unique insight on veterans’ needs and experiences, as she is also a nine-year U. S. Air Force war veteran.
She is a certified Mental Health First Aider, specializing in suicide prevention and intervention. Her techniques come from many modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT(MBCBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She is a member of the School Social Work Association of America.
